Protect yourself and your staff

Protecting staff from loud noise is crucial to prevent hearing loss, reduce stress, and maintain overall health and safety in the workplace.

 

Staff in sectors known for noisy tasks are at risk of loud noise exposure. These include construction, demolition, road repair, woodworking, plastics processing, engineering, textile manufacturing, general fabrication, forging, stamping, paper or board making, canning, bottling, foundries, waste, airports, and recycling.

 

It is the responsibility of employers to protect their staff from loud noise exposure at the workplace. They must assess the risks and take action to reduce them, either through engineering controls, administrative controls, or by providing Hearing Protection Devices (HPDs) to ensure the noise levels received by the employee's ears are within safe limits.
